So I've been busy. Using everything I've learned from The Bestseller Experiment, and Mark Dawson's Self-Publishing podcasts (plus a few others), I'm preparing to launch CRY HAVOC into the world. I have a cover. I've formatted the book in Vellum so it even looks professional and has a chapter list that links up to the actual chapters in the book. I'm now writing a short story, CRY WITCH, set while Jack is a novice training to be a warrior priest as a freebie giveaway - I'll use this to help start building a mailing list and get people interested in the bigger world. I've also got my cover for that. Now Susan Kaye Quinn, a guest on The Bestseller Experiment suggested you should actually get the whole series written before you launch but I'm not sure I can wait for that. I do know what Book 2 is called - CRY FEAR - and what it's about but it's a long way from being written. Part of me wants to see what the response is to CRY WITCH and CRY HAVOC before I write another book in the series... Here are the covers...   Once the books are ready, I need to work out how to set up a mailing list and arrange some promotions through Instafreebie or Bookbub...

Loved cry havoc. Slow start but started to really get going after that. Fight scenes are good, gun kills are graphic and great. Sword play parts need work.

Over all cry havoc was a good read. yeah it started out slow but most books do when u have to go from trainy to warrior. The part I didn't get was in the training jack faced off against 3 people like he was a blade master and the priests got super combat training. When they faced even the simplest of grunt the show wasn't that great in my mind and they took hits left and right like a normal soldier would

Please get Cry Fear out! I can't wait to read it and get more into the universe. I listened to the audiobook on audible but will probably buy physical copy as well. I love your pacing and the fight scenes, the brutal nature of the environment as well, it's refreshing to see heros that don't stand much of a chance.

Hi Sam. Really glad you liked Cry Havoc - I love the audio production of it too. Cry Fear is nearly finished so you won't have to wait much longer. I also have a novella coming out soon that will be free to everyone on my mailing list. Cry Witch is a short adventure set just before Jack takes his vows....

Enjoyed both frey books and havs ordered the the mar 1 one. I reacted physically to reading them and got as sweaty as if i was in the fight.

It appears jack has two love interests. Are they aware of each other? Btw i have a large black dog which is why i was attracted to your series. Plus i considered becoming a priest earlier in my life.

Absolutely loved this book! The funny thing is I was really in the mood for combative priests. This caught my eye and I was more than pleasantly surprised at the turnout. I thought I was looking for a Constantine-ish type of setting and story but I LOVE the world you set up. It's like God put this my list in audible because of what I was looking for. Really great job! How do I get on that mailing list for Cry Witch because I love stories that really get involved in the middle of the protagonist's training? Thanks again for this great story. Can't wait for the 2nd and 3rd books. No more waiting! You've succeeded! Now just pump them out so we can enjoy your hard work!

Hi Cameron. Glad you enjoyed CRY HAVOC. I'm super happy with how the audio book came out. Both CRY WITCH and CRY FEAR are with the production company now so I think they'll be out in a couple of months. I think CRY WITCH will be given away free but I'm not 100% sure. Both books are available for Kindle right now at an Amazon store near you. Thanks once again, Mike

Love this book, at first a thought that the book was about jack's brother, but when he ran away I got it, hence Jack Frey Novel, loved everything about it, the Audiobook version is super, highly recommend it !
