"Excellent book. Dark fantasy novels are difficult to do right, and I thought this novel succeeded in that regard. It is a Multiple point of view novel, but only focuses on two Main Characters. It Contains Fantasy and supernatural elements, but not much in the way of Magic. The progression from childhood to adulthood was done well, and I thought the Heroes and Villains were compelling and truly worth writing a story around. I hope the next novel is as compelling as this novel was."
I was so excited to get this review. Sales have been great on the book but it's a massive thrill to hear someone's feedback. Plus reviews help sales like nothing else. Sales continue to do well. I increased the price yesterday from 99c to $1.99 and actually look on course to have my best day yet. I've also been clocking in KU page reads, with two days registering just under 5k each day. Really exciting stuff.

So CRY HAVOC has been on sale for five days now and so far each day has been better than the last in sales and KU page reads. The KU page reads in particular are interesting as either a lot of people are reading slowly or some people are devouring it in one day. If it's in one day, I can totally understand why people are looking for a series — you can't expect people to wait a year for the next one if they consume it in a day.
It's also interesting to note, that's I've doubled the total number of sales for SWITCHBLADE in those five days too. The only downside at the moment is that I haven't got any reviews. Reviews are so important with continued sales. I've nearly finished edits of my other book to send to my agent so once that's done, I'll get on and finish the JACK FREY short story I was working on and release that - plus use it to build my mailing list. Then it'll be on to Book 2, CRY FEAR. So CRY HAVOC went on sale yesterday. I didn't do anything special, didn't follow the tricks everyone recommended. I didn't even finish my freebie book that I wanted to use to create a mailing list. I just put it out there. And yesterday I sold 4 books and over a thousand pages were read on Kindle Unlimited.
So far today, I've sold another 4 copies and 300 pages have been read on KU. Now I know these are nothing figures, especially since the book's on sale for 99c/99p but... but my best ever month with SWITCHBLADE only resulted in 7 copies being sold. So yes, I'm excited by this. When I've finished revisions on my other big book, I'll resume the game plan with this and get the next book in the series done. |
